We are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance team in our London, Hays Galleria office. Our Finance FOCUS team provides transactional support to our internal Finance function.

About the team
You'll be joining a specialist team within our Purchase to Pay (P2P) team. The Speicial Investigation Unit (SIU).

The SIU team provides high quality analysis and develops existing reporting processes.

About the role
We are continually developing as new opportunities for reporting arise, and you will be involved in building relationships with key stakeholders, delivering reports to a high level of accuracy and seeking feedback.

In addition to routine work and completing monthly tasks to set deadlines, the successful applicant will perform high level trend analysis relating to payables spend, highlighting areas of risk and communicating with staff to ensure compliance with the policies.

They will also be required to support the two analysts in their day-to-day roles, acting as cover during times of absence to ensure the team's deliverables are met.

Ad hoc requests are received from many areas of the business, requiring the job holder to be able to prioritise tasks effectively and to understand the requirements of the customer.

  • Daily transaction processing within a finance environment
  • Maintain awareness of all key processes and procedures within own / related areas with the ability to create and maintain process maps and procedures
  • Contribute towards team KPI and SLA measures
  • Have a proven ability to manage and prioritise projects alongside day to day responsibilities
  • Identify and implement sufficient controls to support processes - alongside Team Leader.
  • Good technical skills within a finance environment with a good understanding of finance and / or banking systems and flow of data
  • A methodical approach with an excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels
  • Ability to share and collaborate effectively with others including the use of online collaboration tools in order t0 create a positive team environment
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to create and deliver monthly reports
  • Liaising with key stakeholders - internal and external
  • Taking ownership of new learning and development opportunities i.e. studying towards a Professional Qualification, Project Management, self-learning or work shadowing.
