WeAreTheCity Jobs (previously CareersCity) was founded in October 2012 in response to WeAreTheCity’s members’ requests to provide a job board offering as part of our services. WeAreTheCity is a leading women’s website which boasts upwards of 30,000 members and 250 professional writers who impart tips and advice around professional and personal development.
WeAreTheCity Jobs leverages the extensive traffic from our main site at wearethecity.com to attract both active and passive job seekers to our job board that features roles from our partner companies and recruitment agencies. We use our extensive social media platforms across Twitter and Facebook to promote not just our partners’ roles, but their employer brands as well.
WeAreTheCity Jobs goes beyond just being a job board. WeAreTheCity Jobs includes editorial content where we feature profiles of inspirational women from all different steps on the career ladder across sectors to show our job seekers what other career options look like. We want to make sure that our job seekers are confident as they pursue a job change with you, so we also include lots of good guidance and advice. And of course we link straight back to the articles and events on WeAreTheCity that promote networking opportunities and events where job seekers can upskill and learn.
It is important to us that our partners are actively seeking ways to engage the female workforce and creating inclusive environments, as our aim is to be supporting the recruitment of our members into roles where they will be willing and able to progress in a fulfilling career. We assess each potential partner on their suitability for WeAreTheCity Jobs and also within our mix of existing partners. We take our partner relationships seriously and we expect that you do as well.
WeAreTheCity Jobs can showcase the roles from our partner firms, especially those roles in areas like finance, IT, and engineering where the number of women is particularly limited. We are also eager to see flexible/part-time roles from our partners given the demand for those in the marketplace and the need for those from job seekers with family commitments.
At WeAreTheCity Jobs we want to help our partners achieve the employer brand recognition they deserve for taking action by providing them with their own microsites. You don’t have to toot your own horn about an amazing internal women’s programme you have to attract the most talented candidates - we will happily do this for you! We can also include your activities and profiles of your own existing inspirational women in our newsletters, bulletins and via the appropriate forums where we know our members are active. We offer options around co-branded career events both online and offine too.
We practice what we preach in terms of our own staffing model. The majority of our staff are women who are stay-at-home mums, part-time students or individuals working from home. We have a fantastic team, and we deliver above and beyond for our clients.
We have big dreams of becoming the to go to site for women and their careers. As a small company we can be nimble and innovative.
